Congratulations on the birth of your son!
Let’s schedule the bris.
Choosing Rabbi Shaima Goldberg as your Mohel ensures that your baby is in the hands of someone skilled and deeply committed to providing a positive and comforting experience for both parents and infants alike.
I acquired my knowledge and expertise in the sacred practice of Bris Milah under the guidance of my esteemed great uncle, Rabbi Mordechai Zimmerman. Together, we attended numerous Brissim ceremonies, engaging in insightful discussions on a wide array of topics related to this important tradition.
In addition to my experiences with Rabbi Zimmerman, I dedicated myself to learning the intricate halachos of Bris Milah alongside Rabbi Ephraim Perlstein, a highly respected Mohel with deep roots in Israel and the son-in-law of Rabbi Paysach Krohn. Our collaboration extended beyond theoretical discussions, as we frequently exchanged thoughts and insights based on the Brissim ceremonies I witnessed and the ones he officiated.
Taking my commitment a step further, I independently performed the Bris ceremonies for two of my sons, under the watchful eyes of my great uncle and Rabbi Perlstein. This hands-on experience added a practical dimension to my understanding of the rituals, contributing to the hundreds of bris ceremonies I have conducted from inception to completion.
To enhance my skills and ensure the highest level of proficiency, I sought certification through hands-on training from Rabbi Michoel Rovinsky, an esteemed Mohel based in St. Louis, whose expertise is widely recognized. This certification, obtained in Dallas, Texas, provided me with valuable insights and techniques to further refine my practice.
Maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement, I regularly attend Brissim ceremonies, observing and engaging with different Mohelim to discuss their unique approaches and techniques. This dedication to ongoing education allows me to stay informed about the latest developments in the field and to incorporate best practices into my ceremonies.
Broadening my perspective, I’ve also observed circumcisions in hospital settings, performed by obstetricians and gynecologists using the Mogen clamp. This exposure has given me a comprehensive understanding of various techniques employed in different settings, further enriching my knowledge and skill set.
In summary, my journey in the sacred practice of Bris Milah has been shaped by the teachings of my great uncle, collaboration with experienced Mohelim like Rabbi Perlstein, independent practice with my own family, formal certification under Rabbi Rovinsky, and a commitment to continuous learning through engagement with diverse practices and settings.
